Welcome

The 4th World Congress on ACS in Dublin in June 2009, follows on the fantastic 3rd World Congress in Antwerp in 2007. The World Society on ACS formed in Australia after the second World Congress in 2004 is a multidisplinary society of clinicians involved in day to day care of seriously ill and injured patients. The Society has developed the world’s first practice guidelines on ACS , a web site that has taken over 2 million hits and written the first text book on ACS (www.wsacs.org). The Society through its clinical trials working group are fostering a greater understanding worldwide of intra-abdominal hypertension and ACS.

The Dublin meeting in summer of 2009 will host 400 delegates from around the world addresses issues relating to the care of critically ill patients. I would like to encourage you to come to Ireland and enjoy what will be one of the great meetings of 2009.The meeting will allow the industry to understand the future directions of care in the ever expanding realm of ACS.
